WE ARE THE PEOPLE
Empowering citizens, inspiring change, building a nation, together.
We Are The People is a voluntary association formed to champion nation-building by mobilising citizens to continuously participate in democratic governance and elections.
We convene South Africans, both at home and abroad, to identify and agree upon key national priorities and to work towards the establishment of a capable and trustworthy government willing to collaborate and account directly to the people.
We encourage people to create enabling environments for community-led solutions to thrive; and seek to create a clear national identity which sets South Africa to reconstruct its social fabric and a better future for all.
Every election is an opportunity for voters to have a say in our democracy - to determine with whom we want to co-govern.
Yet, 30 years into our democracy we find ourselves in a democratic project that has been broken by government failures that have made the lives of most South Africans unliveable. Unemployment, poverty, load-shedding, crime, lack of service delivery continue to be part of our day to day democratic experience.
We, the voters, must act now in order to elect a government that can address these issues through a continued effort to strengthen democratic institutions, promote economic growth and ensure equal access to opportunities for all citizens. We must vote for change.
